CBT Therapy, Birmingham

CBT can help you to change your behavioural patterns by helping you to challenge your thinking patterns and cognitive abilities. What you learn from experience and think ('Cognitive processes') has a direct relation to the way you act or behave. By changing both or either of these two processes, you can change the way you feel for the better. 


When it comes to anxiety and depression the focus will be primarily on the 'here and now' and how you can develop coping strategies to deal with everyday situations and challenges.  However, I can also support you by looking into your past history or experiences, as this could play a part in triggering any anxiety, depression, or other issues you may be experiencing. By using this holistic approach to CBT, you will learn that you can overcome these problems.

What is the Therapy I offer?

I offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) coupled with a holistic approach to dealing with anxiety and depression. Birmingham based, I can provide this therapy using online therapy services, or one to one (government guidelines allowing).

There are 5 main areas which can evoke feelings of anxiety and depression. We can explore these together. These include:

· Situations

· Thoughts

· Emotions

· Physical feelings

· And actions


CBT is based on how these 5 areas interconnect with one another, creating a chain reaction that either dispels mental anxieties and triggered depression, or sustains it, affecting your overall mental wellbeing.  For example, your thoughts about a certain situation will affect how you feel both physically and emotionally, and in turn how you act in response to the situation. Your response can likewise have a ‘knock-on’ effect, causing you to reinforce the original thoughts about the situation. 

Holistic Approach

Working alongside CBT, any additional information can be applied using the following holistic approach to mental health recovery. These include: 


· Exploring your daily life style management, including diet, exercise and sleep patterns

· Using and exploring socialisation

· Stress management technics

· Meditation and affirmation


This will help you to actively play a part in aiding the path to recovery from anxiety and depression.

As well as working with people who struggle with depression or are feeling anxious, Birmingham delivered one to one therapy or online therapy services can be provided for clients who have long term physical health issues which impacts their daily mental health.  Learning to understand how your view on your physical health condition can either hinder or improve your health management, as well as supporting you to challenge any negative feelings and reactions related to your condition, can ultimately improve your quality of daily life.

What to expect from my therapy services in dealing with depression and anxiety in Birmingham?

The therapy you have will be in a relaxed environment to enable you to be honest and free to discuss matters openly and honestly. This includes any information that you have been unable to talk about before.  My goal is to give you the skills and techniques you need to be empowered to come up with the answers for yourself, as I truly believe you can. With time and professional guidance, you will be supported to find effective solutions.


I actively promote the use of practising these skills when away from session so that you can see the benefits of these technics working at the times you need them most.


Ultimately, I wish is for you to come out of therapy with the strength, resilience, holistic knowledge, and other skills and benefits, to get a better quality of life and conduct successful relationships in all walks of life.

Therapy location

Therapy is generally face to face; however, I can offer video calling (e.g. Zoom) . 

Length of Therapy

I can offer you a free 20-minute consultation to discuss any queries around therapy that you may have. After which, if you decide to continue with me then the sessions normally take place weekly and last 60 minutes, although this is open to discussion. The number of sessions will depend on the needs of you as an individual client, which can be up to 20 sessions.

30 minutes - £35
