I offer CBT otherwise called Cognitive Behavioural therapy coupled with a holistic approach for anxiety and depression as discussed on the page/tab "About Me" .
CBT can help you to change how you think ('Cognitively') and what you do ('Behaviourally'). These changes can help you to feel better about yourself. In anxiety and depression the focus is on the 'here and now'. However, I additionally look into the past history of a client, as it may play a part in triggering their mental health issues today. This in turn will help to improve your state of mind in therapy.
In CBT we work on the 5 main areas which maintain anxiety and depression. These 5 areas are:
CBT is based on how these 5 areas interconnect together and how it affects a persons mental wellbeing. For example, your thoughts about a certain situation can often affect how you feel both physically and emotionally, as well as how you act in response to the situation.
On top of CBT, using the clients additional information, we can apply the following holistic approaches which will improve the mental health recovery:
This will help a person in therapy to aid their anxiety and depression.
I offer the therapy in the following languages:
I also offer cultural specific CBT and Holistic therapy.
I additionally work with clients who have long term physical health issues which impacts their mental health. In situations like these I help clients to better understand how they view their physical health condition and work with them to challenge those beliefs and behaviours, with the aim to ultimately improve management of their physical health condition.
This therapy is a very practical, structured and collaborative approach. It requires learning skills and techniques to manage anxiety and depression. This involves taking on board and applying these techniques in the period between therapy sessions.
Therapy is generally face to face, however I can offer video calling (e.g. skype) or telephone therapy.
I can offer a free 20 minute consultation to discuss any queries around therapy you may have. After which, if you decide to commence with the therapy then the sessions will take place weekly and last 60 minutes, although this is open to discussion. The number of sessions in total will depend on the needs of the indvidual client, which can be up to 20 sessions.
The cost of each 60 minute therapy session is £55.
